We're looking to add a part-time (with the possibility of full-time) Intermediate Architectural Technologist to the Vereco Consulting & Design team.  

 

We are looking for a diligent, collaborative team member who has a great eye for design and who wants to implement environmental sustainability as a key aspect of their work.  

 

This is a remote position with the opportunity for occasional in-person meetings and site visits, as needed. 

 

As the ideal candidate, you will: 

• have an Architectural Technology Diploma or Certification; 

• have a thorough understanding of residential and commercial design and construction, including NBC 2020, and local construction bylaws;  

• be highly proficient in Autodesk design software. This position requires working independent knowledge in Revit and AutoCAD. Proficiency in Civil3D will be considered an asset.  

• have the ability to independently produce floor plans, construction details, construction specifications, construction drawings, and conceptual renderings;  

• have an understanding of high-performance energy-efficient building envelope methods;  

• be keen on integrating sustainable materials into your designs;  

• attend (mostly virtual) client meetings when needed; 

• communicate with team members and clients regularly to refine designs;  

• be able to problem-solve and suggest innovative solutions to design challenges. 

 

This position will collaborate with our Lead Architectural and Interior Design Technologists and the rest of the team to design high-performance buildings.  

 

This is an intermediate position with 2-3 years or more of experience in industry required.  

 

The ability to design independently with the software listed above is crucial. Familiarity with energy-efficient building envelope and mass timber construction methods is an asset with additional training offered through project work.  

 

We offer flexible part-time work hours, a remote work position for a candidate located ideally in Saskatchewan or Alberta, with other locations within Canada being considered. The opportunity for additional hours may exist if desired.

Required qualifications 

• Two (2) years of Design Services experience.  

• Autodesk software proficiency.  

• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. 

• Be physically located in Canada for the duration of your employment.
