"Making a Living"
The Pimacihowin project includes youth between the ages of 16-21 attending Cst. Robin Cameron Education Complex and Stobart Community School in Beardy’s Okemasis First Nation.
The program follows a semester system which consists of two five-month semesters in one academic school year.
The Pimacihowin Project collaborates with the housing coordinator and public works director to establish the priorities of renovation projects within the community.
Since the implementation of this project, these youth have shown increased attendance, engagement, and completion of training modules.
The Pimacihowin Project is a program that is recognized and supported by the Ministry of Education with the government of Saskatchewan. Additionally, the Pimacihowin Project also registers their participants with Saskatchewan Youth Apprenticeship Program.

About FIKA
Introducing a very exciting new build project in Saskatoon:
Fika House is a 12-unit affordable community for independent LGBTQ2S+ seniors that will target Net Zero efficiency in Saskatoon’s Sutherland neighborhood. The complex will address cost of living through a proposed car share program, community garden as well as a high performance design that will reduce utility costs.
Fika House is a grand-scale collaboration project that seeks to build community connections in an inclusive manner to support LGBTQ2S+ seniors, who are disproportionately faced with housing inequalities and discrimination.
After many months of conceptualizing, planning, designing, energy modeling, and meeting all of the city zoning requirements, we can’t wait to see this project finally come to life! Construction is scheduled to begin Spring 2021.
